To approve the award of contract to PJ Combustion Solutions Ltd for five years to provide servicing and maintenance of three cremators and ancillary equipment to ensure continuity of service at Worthing Crematorium on the terms set out in the report.
WBC Cabinet Member for the Environment: I am happy to approve this decision for the reasons outlined in the report. Specifically, to renew the cremator Servicing and maintenance contract to PJ Combustion Solutions Ltd - the sole UK servicing and maintenance partner of DFW Europe - the manufacturer of Worthing’s three, gas burning cremators - for five years. The budget for cremator repairs and servicing for 2023/2024 is £186,070, enabling the accommodation of this charge - the total amount of £164,670.00 per annum. This sum is based on the estimated 3300 cremations per annum, based on the past performance of 275 cremations per month. In order to comply with the Public Contract Regulations 2015, it is fundamental to renew the contract for repair and maintenance of these extremely busy cremators ensuring continuity of this service.
ADC Cabinet Member for the Environment & Leisure: This is a Worthing only matter so very happy to abstain.
