Decision:

The Executive Members have noted the contents of this report and the shorter term commercial waste arrangement (starting on or before 29th November 2021) with West Sussex County Council (WSCC) on the terms set out in this report; noted that the agreement with WSCC will enable the Director for Digital Sustainability and Resources sufficient time to carry out a further procurement exercise for a commercial waste management supplier; and delegated authority to the Director for Digital, Resources and Sustainability to enter into a longer term waste management contract with the successful supplier from the procurement exercise (referred to at clause 2.2 above), in consultation with Executive Members.

Reasons for the decision:

WBC Executive Member for Digital & Environmental Services: In the interest of ensuring the safe disposal of our commercial waste.

ADC Executive Member for Environment: Agreed, to continue the safe disposal of commercial waste

Alternative options considered:

WBC Executive Member for Digital & Environmental Services: We need to take action on this matter urgently. It is right to take this approach subject to a re-procurement exercise mentioned in the report.

ADC Executive Member for Environment: We need to take action on this matter urgently. It is right to take this approach subject to a re-procurement exercise mentioned in the report.
