Temporary Extension of the terms of appointment for members of the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel pdf icon PDF 120 KB

Minutes:

Before the Committee was a report from the Interim Director for Communities, copies of which had been circulated to all Members and copies are attached to the signed copy of these Minutes as Item 3.

 

The report sought the Sub-Committee’s approval to extend the current terms of appointment of the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel Members for a short period to enable the completion of a review of Members Allowances for 2022/23 to be conducted and reported to the Joint Governance Committee in March 2022. 

 

Members were asked to note that a recruitment exercise would be undertaken to select new members of the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel in the new municipal year and that a review of the role of the Panel, including terms of reference and remuneration of panel members, would be undertaken prior to the recruitment exercise.

 

Resolved, 

 

The Joint Governance Sub-Committee

 

  1. approved that the current joint independent remuneration panel membership be extended until Monday 23 May 2022;

  2. noted that a recruitment exercise would be undertaken to select new members of the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel in the new municipal year; and

  3. noted that a future review of the role of the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel members, including terms of reference and remuneration, would be undertaken prior to the recruitment process outlined above.
