Substitute Members

Any substitute members should declare their substitution.

Minutes:

The Chairman advised there were no substitute Members however, welcomed Councillor Paul Westover to the Committee as it had been confirmed at Annual Council he would replace Councillor Karen Harman.

Declarations of Interest

Members and Officers must declare any disclosable pecuniary interests in relation to any business on the agenda.  Declarations should also be made at any stage such as interest becomes apparent during the meeting.

Members and Officers may seek advice upon any relevant interest from the Monitoring Officer prior to the meeting.

Minutes:

Councillor Paul High declared an interest as an elected Member of West Sussex County Council (WSCC).

 

Councillor Noel Atkins declared an interest as an elected Member of WSCC and as Ward Councillor in respect of item 6.4.

 

Councillor Martin McCabe declared an interest in items 6.1 and 6.2 as he provided health and safety advice for a subcontractor for Persimmon Homes on a site at Burgess Hill and for a subcontractor of Taylor Wimpey in Uckfield. 

 

Councillor Helen Silman declared an interest in item 6.4 as she resided in High Salvington; was acquainted, and had spoken with, the members of the public who had made representations and members of the Mill Trust but had not predetermined the application.

 

Councillor Steve Wills declared an interest in item 6.3 as a Non-Executive Director of Worthing Homes.

Public Question Time

So as to provide the best opportunity for the Committee to provide the public with the fullest answer, questions from the public should be submitted by midday on Friday 22 May 2020.

 

Where relevant notice of a question has not been given, the person presiding may either choose to give a response at the meeting or respond by undertaking to provide a written response within three working days.

Minutes:

The Chairman advised that there were no pre-submitted questions from members of the public about any matter for which the Council had a responsibility or which affected the District.

 

The Council’s revised procedure rules require advance notification of all public questions where a committee meeting is being held remotely.

To approve the minutes of the Planning Committee meetings of the Committee held on Wednesday 22 April 2020, which have been emailed to Members.

RESOLVED, that the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 22 April 2020 be confirmed as a correct record and that they be signed by the Chairman.
