Decision Maker: Adur Cabinet Member for Adur Homes and Customer Services, Worthing Cabinet Member for Housing and Citizen Services

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decision:

The Worthing Executive Member for Customer Services has agreed to abstain as an Adur matter.

The Adur Executive Member for Customer Services has agreed to award the contract to the highest scoring tender from the evaluation process, AD Construction Group Limited and that delegated authority be provided to the Head of Housing to award the contract and thereafter execute it on behalf of Adur District Council.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council currently has 284 general needs blocks of flats in its housing stock. As landlords Adur has a legal duty to ensure that a fire risk assessment is carried out to identify and remove any fire risks and hazards and to reduce these as far as possible.

Alternative options considered:

Do not award a contract.
