Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

To tender and award a gas supply contract. Ensure OJEU Compliance and continuity  of business requirements. Secure and lock in the best ppu rate across our portfolio while ensuring that supplier contracts run for consecutive periods eliminating the risk of being charged on ‘deemed out of contract rates’ which are considerably higher. The current supplier contract will expire on the 30/9/20.

Reasons for the decision:

To obtain the best price and make sure the supplier billing and reporting is compatible with our data requirements/system.

Alternative options considered:

A limited time is available to accept these tenders (by noon the same day) to lock down these prices. Failure to respond/accept would put the Councils out of contract and higher energy rates charged. This risk is not acceptable.
