The Director for Digital & Resources, in consultation with the Adur Executive Member for
Environment, has approved the award of the tender to AECOM Limited.
Three tenders for this project were received, AECOM Ltd provided the best
value in terms of both cost and meeting the requirements of the specification.
To authorise the acceptance of the tender from AECOM Limited in accordance with the Joint Council’s Contract Standing Orders clause 8.12 : Acceptance of Tenders.
Do nothing. This option was not preferred as levels of efficiency and costs for decarbonising would potentially be higher on the Worthing Civic Site without a heat network.
The reasons for exploring opportunities for a heat network on the Worthing Civic Quarter Site were identified in Adur & Worthing Councils’ Carbon Neutral Plan and Energy Audits. These identified that a heat network could offer a more viable and efficient way of delivering decarbonisation of heat on the Worthing Civic Quarter site. It recommended this opportunity be explored quickly in order to maximise benefits to the Worthing Integrated Care Centre development scheme.
